International Academic Competitions is pleased to announce that this fall, European and Middle Eastern students have the opportunity to take part in Team vs. Team and Individual vs. Individual Competitions.

Details of History Team vs. Team Bowl Event
Organization
Teams can be composed of up to four players at a time. Players must attend the same school for the 2021-2022 school year.
The European Fall Team vs. Team Competition will play five preliminary matches on Sunday, November 14th from 13:00-17:00 Central European Time. For Playoffs, all teams will be ranked by wins, then points. The top 8 teams will advance to the playoff bracket where they will play until a champion is determined. The playoffs will be played on Sunday, November 14th from 17:00-19:00 Central European Time.
The Registration Window will close on November 8th at 11:59pm Central European Time.
Please note all bowl matches will be played following normal IHBB rules, with a modified third quarter where every lightning round question is played like a bonus question. They will also use the Zoom platform and an online buzzer system.
Divisions:
Varsity: Oldest team member born before September 2005
Junior Varsity: Oldest team member born in September 2005 or more recently
Middle School: All team members born September 2007 or more recently
European Championships Qualification
This Fall Regional Competition qualifies teams for the 2021 European Championships History Bowl. The top 4 teams in every preliminary pool of 6 teams qualify. Or the top 60% of competing teams in each division.
Awards
In all events, the top 3 teams will receive plaques.
Costs
Teams of 3 or 4 players: 200 USD per team
Teams of 2 players: 150 USD per team
Teams of 1 player: 100 USD per team
Payments are made through Flywire. International Wire Payments will incur a 35 USD fee.
Details of History Bee Online
The European Fall History Bee Online Competition will play three preliminary matches on Saturday, November 13th from 14:00-16:00 Central European Time. For Playoffs, all students will be ranked by points, and the top students will be assigned to a final round. The playoffs will be played on Saturday, November 13th from 16:30-17:00 Central European Time.
The Registration Window will close on November 8th at 11:59pm Central European Time.
Students in Europe will play against other European and Middle Eastern teams.
Divisions:
Varsity: Students born before September 2005
Junior Varsity: Students born between September 2005- August 2007
Middle School: Students born September 2007 or more recently
European Championships Qualification
The top 60% of students from each country, according to prelim rank and, in each age division will qualify for the International History Bee at the European Championships and the top 30% to the next International History Olympiad.
Awards
The top 3 students, based on the final results, in each age division will receive medals shipped to them after the event concludes.
Cost
History Bee Competition Registrations will cost 30USD per student. Payments can be made in the form of a wire transfer using Flywire.
