The International History Bee and Bowl is excited to announce the start of its 2021-2022 competition season! This is IHBB’s eleventh year of organizing history quiz tournaments throughout Europe, and after a season of online competitions, we look forward to returning with a hybrid in-person and online model. Our 2022 European Championships location will be determined shortly, but top students can look forward to qualifying for the 2022 International History Olympiad and International Geography Bee World Championships, which are taking place in the United States!
This year students will have multiple avenues of participation depending on the local health requirements in their area, how comfortable students are with returning to live events, and their schedules. The Fall Tournaments (run on Beta Set) will run exclusively online (on the weekend of the 13th/14th of November). While in winter and spring of 2022 we hope to run in person tournaments, please note that there will be one online pan-European regional (run on Alpha Set on April 2nd-3rd) which will also qualify for the European Championships (in May 2022). This will allow all students, regardless of location, the chance to compete multiple times this year.
During this Fall, IHBB staff will resume visiting schools throughout Europe to encourage further participation in our events. If you’d be interested in having us come to your school to learn more about our events, or even hold a practice round or two for your students or team, please email emilio@iacompetitions.com. IHBB and its parent organization, International Academic Competitions, wish you and your team the best of luck at all your 2021-2022 academic year tournaments, and hope you have a great time competing!
