International Academic Competitions is delighted to announce that beginning with the 2024-25 school year, all schools in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Caucasus will have the chance to compete in the International Academic Bowl at both the Regional level through an online tournament, and at our annual European Championships. The Academic Bowl is an all-subject quiz competition for teams of students who attend the same school. The rules and format of the Academic Bowl rounds are otherwise identical to those used in the International History Bowl. Note that the International Academic Bowl European Championships does not require any prior qualification: it is also open to any school that is otherwise participating in the European Championships in the History, Science, or Geography events there. However, teams who have finished in the top 50% of an Academic Bowl tournament prior to the European Championships are also welcome to attend just the Academic Bowl at the European Championships if they wish. There are sample Academic Bowl rounds on the Resources Page to practice with, and the Academic Bowl Rules for Online Play are posted here.
For further questions, please email us at nolwenn@iacompetitions.com. We hope you will enjoy this new chance to compete!
